This day can be summed up with one word: Argh.
First I e-mailed Kari the draft of the Wild Hunt. Or rather, I tried. Since the e-mail bounced.
Then I smacked the foot into the table. Ow.   At least it doesn't hurt anymore. 

Now I'll eat lunch and then poke at the Silver Hand.

For the last couple of weeks, I have poked at the notes, but not often.  Most of all, I have been reading and enjoying the wonderful weather.  Oh, and my internet stopped working.  I knew it was upcoming, since I cancelled it in March. I couldn't make up my mind about the speed for the new Internet.  

Any way today I sat down to write a couple reviews, and spotted a file called The Silver Hand.   Which made go Huh?  Since as far as I could remember I hadn't reviewed a book called that.So I clicked on it. And found the opening to Book 2 in my Epic fantasy novella (!) trilogy.  
And I was blown away by how good it was.

Ok, sure it needs  to be edited, but it tugged at my gut, and it caught my interest.   Now I just need to find the outline....  
And scribble down notes for the Tegs.. 

Oh, anyone interested in beta reading the first book? 

This morning, I realised that I would have to cut the last 10 000 words I wrote.  This, combined with the knowledge that the draft needs a lot of work, made me decide to declare the first draft done. And start preparing for the second draft.  Including doing the notes I should have done for the first draft. ( I did do notes about Korun and the trolls, but the rest of the world took me by surprise.)   And I am glad I did. I got an idea about the source of the trolls magic that give me goosebumps.

To do this week:
- Prep for upcoming giveaways
- Write and Schedule reviews.
- Find the notebook containing the reviews that were supposed be up last week. (sigh)
-  Clean the apartment (see above)
- Write, but probably not today. *grins*

I got 1100 words written today, which puts the draft at 48 000 words. And, it is not even close to done.   So, I am aiming at 60 000 words now.  ( Which will make it the longest 1st draft I have written) Right now it is a mess. To put it mildly, but that's ok. All my first drafts are messy.

It took a bit longer than planned, but the draft is finally over 45 000 words :).   I am starting to suspect that I have more than 5000 words to go. But we will see.   

This is pure rambling about things. Probably quite boring :).

Baking:
I stumbled upon a blueberry corn muffins recipe, and since I had most of the ingredients I decided to give it a try.  Uhm. They tasted nice, but got a bit burned, since I placed the sheet to high in the oven. sigh.  Also, the recipe said to use polenta, but I think I will replace it with corn flour the next time, since the polenta didn't bake properly.

Laundry:
I went to book the Laundry room, and there was an empty booking twenty minutes later. So now I have clean sheats :).

E-readers:
I love my Sony, and I am not that fond of Amazon, but aghl. I discovered that a Kindle NT is available at Tradera, and right now it is  2 SEK ( which is 20 cent or something).  Yes, I know that the final price will be higher since it is an auction, but I am waiting until Monday before making up my mind.    Not that I will buy anything from Amazon, but I do download enough free e-books to justify a Kindle. 

Reading:
I am reading Carousel Tides by Sharon Lee.  Which is quite good.

Writing:
Errm...  Not so much today.


Now, if you excuse me I need to clean the kitchen.

The draft is at 44 000.  And a lot of things is going wrong.   Still have no idea when it will end, though.  

This week is all about life vs writing.  It is Easter next weekend, and so I am off to spend the week at our summer house.   Normally, I would have left the laptop at home, since it is nice to disconnect  from the internet. But, since my brother want to watch a football game online, I am bringing it.
I'll try to sneak in some writing. If it had been just me and my mom, I would have gotten quite a lot done. But since my brother will be there, the writing is much more likely to be hit and miss, since he likes to interrupt me. On the other hand, he will probably be studying.

One thing I will definitely do is reading.  Reading and writing.  There are worse ways to spend a holiday.

Oh, and the draft is over 40 000 words. Which means it officially a novel.
Oh.  I had this discussion with my brother:
Him: So how long is your book?
Me: Um. 155 pages
Him: Oh. Good. Can I read it when you are done?
Me: We will see.

Will I let him read him? Maybe.  After the revisions. Which means sometime next year.  On the other hand, he doesn't read much at all. So if I can hook *him* I know I am doing something right.
On the other hand, I need a beta reader. And I need to get a thicker skin.

It is 11:40 am, and I have reached my daily goal.  3 wars x 300 and one with 170 words. 
The next goal is... 40 000 words.
